1971 Buick Riviera - Something To Believe In
With all this talk of a Riviera Concept, BuickPedia thought it would be a great blast from the past to check out Buick’s 1971 Riviera. With classic lines that still turn heads (on the rare occasion you find one on the street) 70’s Buick vehicles were great to drive, and the size of boats!
These photographs come from a Buick Press Release, where they claim “You’re looking at a new set of values for automotive design.”

The ‘71 Riviera was available in 7 colors, with optional 8-Track player and a 455 V-8 engine. It also came equip with “MaxTrac Computer-controlled Power” - making it sound like the car was going to take off with or without you.

Thanks to The Old Car Manual Project for posting this!

Im just in love with the riveras. I own a 1971 original motor just rebuilt completely from head to toe, with a mid-grade high performance. It was purchased from the original owner John Lowery. Interior is ORiginal with piping added, the same color as the car. Its a off yellow only one repaint. Original trans-400. originall suspension with a set of 22″ inch dub presidental with matching color. Engine was rebuilt by power line engines willoughby,oh.
It sounds like you were able to get a nice start with your ride and build it up from there. I have always loved this car and was glad to see that someone is into taking the energy to restore it, and make it even better looking, I am sure. If you have any pictures of the new look can you e-mail a couple. Also, I see that you must be in my neck of the woods with the engine being rebuilt in Willoughby. i am looking for a new spot to store my ‘81 vette for the winter. Any suggestions? thanks and enjoy your car.
