Buick Brings Back a “Super” Blast From the Past

Buick Brings Back a “Super” Blast From the Past

In 1950 you would be sure to notice the stylish and powerful Buick Super cruising down the strip. The Super, one of Buick’s most successful cars ever, came out in the 50’s when V8 engines were first introduced to the Buick line. In 2008 Buick is back with a new V8 car with the “super” name in the LaCrosse Super. This new model features a 300 horsepower 5.3 liter small block engine and the capability to do 150 miles per hour.

For the driver worried about the fuel economy of a V8, the LaCrosse Super has an Active Fuel Management system that controls the usage of 4 or 8 cylinders. “This is probably one of the best-riding and best-handling GM cars that I’ve been in for a long time,” reports Bob Gorski with the Buick Club of America. The vehicle will soon be available at a dealership near you and is expected to cost $33,000.
