Will The Grand National Return in F&F 5?

After an opening weekend of $72 million dollars it didn’t take long for Fast & Furious 5 to be put into motion. I mean, all those answered questions from Fast & Furious, they must be resolved!

What we really want to know is the fate of Buick’s star, the Grand National – will it, or another, return for the fifth installment of this Vin Diesel/Paul Walker extravaganza??

According to The Los Angeles Times:

“Fast and Furious” star Paul Walker has revealed that the fifth “F&F” is already revving up production.

“Furious 4″ cranked out a heart-stopping $72.5 million last weekend. Which could help explain why a fifth one is getting the green light.

“This was supposed to be it. There wasn’t supposed to be the open-ended closing like there was,” Walker told MYfm.

“But without question, with the way things opened up, Vin and I will be coming back, we’re making a fifth one, and we’re going to Brazil, that’s it,” he added.

He had no answer for fans about why Vin didn’t do the second one or why he didn’t do the third one. But he doesn’t want to annoy anyone looking forward to seeing the original crew in No. 5.

“When they started talking about making the fourth one, I was like, man, I don’t really have a choice now, because if I don’t do it I know I’m gonna be pissing people off, because this is the opportunity to come back and make the first true sequel.”

Fast & Furious 4: Buick Grand National

We’ll be the first to admit we have a serious crush on anything related to Buick Grand National. But after checking out Edmund’s behind the scenes look at Vin Diesel’s Grand National (which he will be driving during Fast & Furious, in theaters next week!) we have to ask – can you blame us?! Buick Grand National – Hot Wheels Edition (Toys!)

Jalopnik recently gave a nod to the Buick Grand National, Hot Wheels Edition – the latest addition to the amazing line up of tiny die cast toy cars. With the new Fast & Furious featuring hitting theaters later this year, we can only hope respect for Grand Nationals everywhere grows. Buickpedia took a little peek around the interwebs and found a gorgeous collection of toy Buick GN’s.

Johnny Lightning has always been one of our favorite toy car replica makers – known for such great recreations as Back to the Future’s time machine and the Caddy Ambulance from Ghostbusters. Check out the slogan for Classic Gold Collection – “Replicas of history’s greatest classics!” – couldn’t have said it better ourselves!

This D.A.R.E. Buick Grand National takes us back to elementary school during the 1980′s – was McGruff the Crime Dog patrolling in one? And how can you not LOVE a WCW Booker T. Edition GN?!

Can This Buick Grand National Survive Fast and Furious?

They made another Fast and Furious feature. Maybe when President Elect Obama takes office he will abolish all bad movies like this one to Canada. But until then we must stand the sight of Vin Diesel and his horrid attempts at wit (“This is where my jurisdiction begins”) – is it?! Most frightening about this trailer for Fast and Furious 4, opening April 3rd 2009, is not that it was made, but how much of a beating the Buick Grand National takes.
